Many artists around the world are leaving traditional modes of art canvas for more inspired, unique platforms of expression that are as original as the art work it bears. Mary Kenyon of California in the United States is just such as an artist, choosing, interestingly, seashells as her primary canvas. Ms. Kenyon converts the shells into jewel dishes, the final product resembling something that you would find in a find in a China shop.
It may be all in the family. Her father, once a respected oil painter in his own right, inspires her. But for, Ms. Kenyon, self-taught, using canvas as an art medium would have prevented her from decoupaging onto the surface of a seashell. Check out these images and see for yourself how remarkable her work really is.
