A bridge with a twin purpose

Countries Denmark and Sweden are uniquely connected through a bridge that runs as an underwater tunnel used for transportation. This engineering marvel, which has been designed in an artificial island, was opened to public in the year 2000. It took five years to make this fabulous wonder that runs eight kilometers, and it reaches half way through the strait. The bridge plunges into Drogden tunnel that runs four kilometers. The wonderful twin purpose structure not only houses the roads and rails but also carries the network cables. The entire structure assists the people of both countries to travel their destinations with the comfort of their own automobiles. More info: (h/t: demilked)
